From the city of Chelyabinsk, located in the Russian Ural mountains, are relatively the most cyber-attacks carried out. Also the Malaysian Kuala Lumpur and the Argentine capital Buenos Aires are high on the list.

That argues a trio of scientists from the University of Twente in an investigation of internet crime. While in many studies to cybercrime, only figures for countries are given, is the team of the University of Twente more detailed look in an attempt to bring the problem areas to better map to be able to bring.

The researchers, members of the CTIT research group of the University of Twente, have enough data about cyber attacks in hands to get cooperation with You. From the first figures came to the fore that, in particular, the cities of Seoul, Beijing, and Taipei often occurred as cities with a lot of cybercrime. In the top twenty came one European city: Bucharest.

With the first results in the hand corrected the researchers, the figures to the population of the city. There is the list of cities from which the most cyber attacks per million inhabitants to be launched, quite mixed up. With 120 attacks per one million inhabitants reveals the Russian city of Chelyabinsk, the number one, while Kuala Lumpur and Buenos Aires the number two and three.

According to the researchers, there may be more detailed studies to cybercrime, better protection systems to be created as attacks from specific areas to avoid. In the near future, the research group, therefore, larger data sets from a variety of sources, the analyses again run again and refine.
