Google removes a Labs projects

Google seems to be an end to make to its Google Labs website. Although the company explicitly indicates that the site is closed, a part of the projects were terminated and another part as an independent project.

In a blog post says Google that its Google Labs-activities will ‘bring back’. Gmail, Calendar and Maps to stay on their own Labs section, but self-contained Labs-projects, such as Listen, Aardvark and the recently announced Swiffy, an uncertain future.

Labs projects are in many cases discontinued, although it remains an unknown number of projects outside of the Labs existence. It is not known which projects will be stopped. Although Google not with so many words says, it seems the search giant its Labs website to close down. The probability seems great that Google in the future especially prominent projects let the test run, such as Google+, and less emphasis on smaller projects.

Labs was the section in which Google long time new products left test run; among other popular Google services like Maps and Docs come from Labs. Google explains that while much has learned from Labs, but minimizing it is part of the ‘set of priorities’. In that framework stopped Google recently with the Health and Powermeter services.
