According to Amber McCollom, director of entertainment & trend marketing at Nintendo of America, will GameCube games be playable on the Wii U. Nintendo would the games as a download offer via the WiiWare service.
“The Wii U may not GameCube discs, but a number of games that are playable on GameCube can be downloaded from WiiWare,” says McCollom in an interview with website NintendoGal.
