F5 Networks has two new virtualization appliances for business storage announced. The ARX1500 and ARX2500 are 1U high and have a hole to fill between the current entry-level model and the top model of the hardware manufacturer.

The ARX1500 has in contrast to its precursor, the ARX500, not two, but about eight gigabit ethernet ports. Also, this model is equipped with a redundant powersupply and is the most expensive variant of the ARX1500 to 3000 users, five times as much as his little brother.

The ARX2500 is the successor of the ARX2000 and has as its main innovative characteristic about two 10Gb-E ports, while his predecessor, entirely absent. The ARX2500 can be just as the ARX2000 up to 6000 users operate. F5 has no prices for the two new models announced.

The products from the ARX Series from F5, that allows companies the internal rules for the management of data to be able to automate and enforce, to support the cifs file system for Windows devices and nfs protocol for Unix and Linux devices. According to the manufacturer, the storage systems are compatible with nearly all nas devices and file servers.
