Sony has Kaz Hirai promoted to chairman of Sony Computer Entertainment Interactive. Andrew House, until now president of the European branch, takes Hirais old job, as president and group ceo of SCEI.

Sony new challenges, sets Kazuo Hirai. So is the group going to the PlayStation Vita on the market. In order to be prepared for, Sony changes have been made in the top and the company boasts it lavish with expensive titles. So Hirai himself promoted to chairman of Sony Computer Entertainment Interactive. In addition, he may representative corporate executive officer and executive deputy president of Sony Corporation, and president of consumer products & services group.

The other members of the senior should be less titles. The old job of Hirai, who is both president and group ceo of Sony Computer Entertainment Interactive, goes to Andrew House, until now president of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe. That clears the way for Jim Ryan, who leads up the position of executive vice president and co-coo of SCEE as ceo of SCEE.

The promotion of Hirai, it means that Sony will say goodbye to Akira Sato, who is retiring as chairman. Ken Kutaragi, who as “the father of the PlayStation’, will resign as honorary chairman of SCEI, but keep to the group connected as well as senior technology adviser. The board of directors of Sony now consists of chairman Kazuo Hirai, president and group ceo Andrew House, and deputy president Kunimasa Suzuki. Also Howard Stringer and Masaru Kato are still part of the board.
