A hacker has designed a device that consists of 3d-printed parts and an Arduino system. The whole may be combination locks of the brand Master, within 30 seconds of opening. He has the design been released.

Hacker Sammy Kamkar has his device Combo Breaker called. The system consists of an Arduino Nano, stepper motor, driver stepper Allegro and HKT22 optical rotary encoder. Further parts come from the 3d printer, and Kamkar has the designs were released.

The system runs the Combo Breaker software, for which source code is released. The operation of the system is based on a weakness that is found in combination locks from Master. This allowed the the 64,000 possible combinations of the locks can be reduced to the initially 100, but Kamkar knew this to bring it back to a maximum of 8 steps.

In total costs the components of the Combo Breaker still no $ 100. The system is mobile use thanks to the presence of a battery. By default, would this 5 minutes do to the Master locks to crack, but if manually, the first digit is set, that is easy to find would be, if the Breaker in 30 seconds.
