Yingjie Bei, and Yifan Hu have a device constructed that the positions of the moon shows. It is possible to choose a date, and then on a screen, the corresponding maanbeeld is displayed. The control is based on an Arduino board.

The two students of New York University have the project on their website and with a video to let them see what their maanprojector all can. On the device, which looks a little like a record player, sit buttons for adjusting the date. If the desired date is set, turn the lamp to the moon in the middle, so the right moon phase to show. By connecting with a computer can be shown how the moon’s position changes over time, such as in the video shown below.

To the whole, in order to get made use of an Arduino-ontwikkelbordje. Which sends the motors of the device, which then ensures that the lamp starts to move. The software is written in Processing. The two creators have an algorithm written that the correct moon phase identifies on the basis of the date.

The hobbyists still have a number of projects on their name. Thus, Yifan Hu, among others, helped in the development of an electric scooter.
