The American company Other World Computing, or OWC, has his latest series of solid state drives ge lwa site. The drives feature a sata-600 interface and a SandForce controller, which are high throughput rates.

The Mercury Electra 6G ssds will be in three variants. The smallest drive is a 120GB version, which is 230 dollar should cost. The intermediate offers 240GB of storage and costs $ 480. The top model, with 480GB of usable capacity, 930 dollar costs. All drives are, in reality, with 7 per cent more capacity, but that is reserved for overprovisioning.

The drives come with a SandForce SF2281 controller that the nand flash drives. What type of memory that is, OWC is not known. More specifications than kwaliteitsgeheugen that at 2x nanometers is produced’ it does not, but that implies mlc memory from IMFT. The drives get throughput speeds up to 556MB/s read and 523MB/s write. With random data to decrease the speeds obviously and significantly higher than, respectively, 34 and 95MB/s. The drives need to 60000iops.
