Satoru Iwata, ceo of Nintendo, in an interview indicated that his company is not ge lwa interested in free playable games. It would be the value of software to reduce and the system would, moreover, not long time.

“I am not interested in software that is offered free,” says Nintendo’s Satoru Iwata in an interview with The Wall Street Journal. The ceo is worried that the freemium model is not a long future. “If we the value of software going to destroy by the free give away, it is difficult to get back from that situation to recover. Indeed, there are examples of companies that make money through in-game ads or microtransacties, but is that a system that in the long-term sustained can be? I don’t know; I want to be that way in any case.”

Iwata also proposes that Nintendo like to have a private line draws. The company wants to distinguish itself from the competition. “For Nintendo, it is especially important to have something unique, that hasn’t been done before,” says the director. About mobile and social games, he says: “If you for example, I would ask if I’m interested in this system or that system, then I must say that that is not the case. And if we something would do, we will be responsible for a complete other solution to come up with.”
