Vint Cerf, the inventor of the tcp/ip protocol suite, controlled during the cybertop in The Hague is a drone with his mind. The ‘gedachtendrone’ was patched together by SURFnet, the need of existing technology lwa n used.

SURFnet showed the ‘gedachtendrone’ during the Global Conference on Cyberspace in The Hague, where the creator of tcp/ip him working. “We have him patched together with an existing drone and hersenhelm”, says Erik Huizer, chief technology officer at SURFnet, against Tweakers. SURFnet, which include internet connectivity for educational institutions, provides, made the drone.

The organization used a Parrot AR.Drone 2.0, in combination with a brain-computer-interface and software that is the brain signals into commands that are appropriate for the drone. That cost about 650 euro for hardware and software.

Cerf, who was willing to be the demonstration to do, had the drone with thoughts upward movement; for the safety of the public could the drone just up and down. After a number of attempts, the creator of the tcp/ip suite – which was chosen because of the lack of hair on his head, making his brainwaves easier were to read it to the drone for a few seconds in the air.

Vint Cerf tested the drone during a session on the cybertop about the ethical aspects of technology. “The Drones call on all ethical questions, but if you hit them with your brain can control,” said Huizer. Previously developed four organisations, including the Dutch company Eagle Science, a way to drones with mind control.
