KPN is going to make use of a pass that personal data of the owner and save. The card was developed by scientists and have the privacy to ensure even better, because the pass only the necessary data shows and the rest shields.

The deliberate pass is IRMA called, what stands for ‘I Reveal My Attributes’. The idea is that all the personal data of the bearer are stored, but that, if asked, only the necessary information will be displayed. An example is that when someone alcohol try to buy in the supermarket the card indicates that the carrier for this purpose is old enough.

In an interview with The news of the world says Bart Jacobs, that the development team leads, KPN and Surfnet are interested in the use of the IRMA card. KPN wants the concept to use in sim cards, probably to a privacybewust alternative to the id card. Or that also means that the data at KPN need to be saved is not clear. Incidentally, also work TNO and SIDN participated in the survey.

Users data stored on the IRMA card is protected with a personal pin code. So its data not just to read and must have explicit permission to be given. To further examine the Radboud University or the concept can be used as a student card and there are also demonstrations given to the government. IRMA is already some years in development.
