IntroductieElk choose year Google completed. n or more manufacturers who, together with them, the next Nexus device. This time it was under other Huawei, a rapidly emerging player in the smartphone market but for a much longer time prominent in the market of network equipment. From the collaboration with Google came The Huawei Nexus 6P, which I am now about 8 weeks in use I’ve had. I opted for the black (graphite) 32GB variant in combination with a KPN subscription. Also I have chosen to be a “Dbrand”layer to paste to the appearance completely to my liking and the black exterior to protect. Since I only have photos of the unit am going to make after putting this skin, will this also on the pictures in the review.Look & FeelDe Nexus 6P is a completely aluminium phone 5.7 inch. Although the phone is a bit big to can feel, especially if you have smaller hands, you’ll notice this is not on the weight for his 178 grams. The device feels a bit slippery, which is a bit risky is when you put him with. safety n hand. A sleeve around it for more grip is not a bad idea. The three physical buttons that the device has (power, volume-up, volume-down) are in the middle of the unit on the left side and give enough feedback at the time of printing. A striking aspect in its appearance is that the back of the device, a kind of hump at the top of the device, where the camera, flash and different sensors in hiding. The horizontal bump is completely of glass and looks black, making it extra noticeable in a light-colored unit. Or you think it’s pretty, however, is a matter of tastes. Furthermore, you will find at the back also a finger print scanner where I later in the review further on in will go.

Properties screen of 5.7 inches and has a WQHD screen for a resolution of 2560 lwa 1440. The screen type is AMOLED (often found in Samsung devices) that is known for its deep zwartwaarden and bright colors. Another advantage is that the flow can save because the screen’s individual pixels can turn on when the black image should display. Difference between a 1080p screen or 1440p screen with the naked eye very difficult to see, even on a screen this size. You do have difference when watching YouTube videos because a 1440p video with a higher bitrate and thus more detail than 1080p. The large screen is perfect for long video’s to watch or to read when you’re using an app with a black background so you in a lesser degree, to light.
CameraDe camera of the device features a 12 megapixel resolution at the back and a 8 megapixel resolution on the front. In terms of filming, it has the option to view in 4K filming and the slow motion at 240 frames per second shoot. Nexus devices were never known for a good camera, but that is with the Nexus 6P certainly changed. Most of the photos that I’ve shot are rich in detail, and even in an environment with low light, the camera performs well. The standard camera app from Google is not very extensive but meets the requirements for beautiful photos without adjusting settings is needed. Unfortunately the camera didn’t have OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) which normally ensures that you always have sharp photos, even if you the unit moves. We have tried to compensate for with Digital Stabilization, however, this works in practice less well than OIS.
GeluidDe Nexus 6P features 2 front speakers to the front of the unit. This allows for stereo sound to be very fun if you the device horizontally in front of you. The sound is very clear and the volume can be quite high without the sound distorting. A disadvantage of the speakers is, however, that the volume of the sound in the top speaker is softer seem to be, what an odd view. This seems to be an issue with most Nexus 6P devices, and is by Huawei are described as “feature” while me more a “design flaw” seems to be. About the sound through the headphone jack is, however, nothing to complain about, and offers good quality. Where do you have to be cautious is that some connections to long seem for the Nexus 6P so the headphones are a bit easier from can shoot.Android 6.0 In October 2015 came Android 6.0 Marshmallow), and was the Nexus 6P together with the Nexus 5X the first device that this software had. Although there is visually not much changes, there is under the hood things have changed. So is the permission system for the installation of use of apps is now gone, leaving an app only to permissions when they actually will need. It is also Doze an interesting new feature which should ensure that all of the apps in hibernation mode when the device a little longer still on the table. However, there may be in the Doze status, however, mail and messages come in and you can certain apps exceptions in the settings. Further brought this Android version also includes support for Nexus Imprint, the finger print scanner software from Google. For a complete list of changes in Android 6.0, you can look here.VingerafdrukscannerDe finger print scanner on the Nexus 6P located on the back of the device, in contrast to iPhones and iPads where he is at the front under the home button. A finger print scanner may sound a little bit like a “bonus feature” that you don’t plan to use. At least, that was my thought, v. safety rdat I use your phone took. However, I miss him after 8 weeks already when I switch to a different device in my hands, I have this option not. This is because Nexus Imprint work as fast and 9 times out of 10 simply, without problems works. Your unit is protected and yet you can unlock it by simply place your finger on the back of the unit to explain, something I automatically do when I put it out of my pocket get. This is less convenient when I put the device on the table to have lying around, but that is me personally, not often the case. Until now, the finger print scanner also use in the Play Store, and will further support in apps in the future hopefully.
USB CNaast the ngerprint scanner provides the Nexus 6P still a novelty, namely, the USB-C port on the bottom of the unit. USB-C is a new type of USB connection which is no different top and bottom more so that the cable, there is nothing wrong in stitches. Also offer this gate in combination with the charger the ability to quickly load, that the device with a 10-minute charger 7 hours battery life it can get. The disadvantage of this, is that you, you old micro-usb cables have no further use for this unit, and you have all your current cables/chargers must replace.
BatterijduurDe battery life of the Nexus 6P is very good, but this depends per person of course on the way you use the device throughout the day. Per day, I travel 2 hours by train and I work regularly with my phone in the back. I regularly check YouTube videos, episodes of series, browse via Chrome and look on Reddit as I travels. This ensures that the screen often a long time is switched on and that my 4G connection often is active. However, I at the end of the day, often around 30% battery with a Screen On Time of approximately 4 hours. In the weekend I often 50% of my battery and I would, in theory, 2 days on a battery charge should be able to do. The Doze function where I was talking about earlier does unfortunately not always work, so there is still a slight energy consumption is when my product for long periods of time lies still on my desk.ConclusieNormaal I do not do longer than one and a half years with a device, but by the great software/hardware combination and new features as the Nexus Imprint and USB-C, I expect that change to come. Also taking pictures is really a pleasure with this unit because of the great camera. This phone I will probably still be a long time continue to use!
