Huawei is less cheap models in its smartphone lineup. The head of the international perszaken says that the Chinese company no longer wishes to compete on relatively small profit margins, but instead want to deposit on high-end devices.

Huawei realizes that the sales by their change of strategy is probably going to decline, so says ceo Joe Kelly in an interview with The Seattle Times. That is happening already: the deliveries in the summer months increased compared to the same period last year, with less than a quarter, but the deliveries of high-end models doubled.

Huawei will no longer focus on the market where the profit from a multitude of low margins is achieved. Huawei wants to distinguish itself in the area of network technology: the company makes its own socs and modemchips.

The change in strategy would be motivated by the emergence of competitor Xiaomi. That smartphoneleverancier is also coming from China, and the company has a large share of the market conquered. The success would mainly lie in the relatively low selling price of their devices, while the specifications as a high-end apply. A market researcher stated recently that Xiaomi and Samsung in China was surpassed when it came to the number of handsets sold.

Huawei has recently released some cheaper devices for the Dutch market announced under its new merknaan Honor. So recently the Honor 6 and the Honor 3c appeared.
