The makers of the privacy friendly Blackphone, have an application store announced that users applications can get that the emphasis on privacy. Blackphone also brings an update to the PrivatOS, which, among other possible content to screens.
According to Blackphone is the application store in January next year released. In-store only, applications included, which according to the company are safe and have an eye for the privacy of the user. Further, there are no examples given of applications which are eligible. Not only Blackphone owners will be able to applications from the store; also other Android devices would be compatible.
About the same time with the introduction of the application store, there should be an update released for PrivatOS, the Android-based operating system of the Blackphone. That update, with version number 1.1, brings, among other Spaces. With this function it is possible to make certain parts of the smartphone screens. It is for example possible to keep work and private separate, says the Blackphone.
The Blackphone is according to the eponymous creators of the first smartphone that focuses mainly on privacy. In the Netherlands, KPN has decided the unit to continue to deliver; in January, the Blackphone is available, so at about the same time with the introduction of the application store and the software update.
